We make nocnt, one of the apps below, so read this knowing that. Every fact on this page comes from each app’s own App Store page or official website, checked on 25 September 2026 on the US App Store. Prices, features and ratings change, so the App Store page is always the final word.

“Android: Yes” means the developer’s own site links to a live Google Play listing. Ratings are rounded to one decimal, with the number of ratings in brackets.

How to choose

If you want a program or a coach, look at the apps built around one. Echo is a structured 90-day program. No Contact: Breakup Recovery is built around an AI coach, and several others add AI chat on top of a tracker. Most of them charge a subscription for that.

If you want a counter without a subscription, nocnt is free. No Contact Tracker: Breakups keeps its core features free and sells a Pro tier.

If privacy matters most, read each app’s App Privacy label on its App Store page. The developer fills it in, and Apple shows it as given. Zero Contact’s label says it collects no data. nocnt’s label says no data is linked to you, and there’s no account to create.

If you’re on Android, only No Contact Tracker: Breakups and Echo link to a Google Play listing from their own sites.

Where nocnt fits

nocnt counts the days since you last contacted your ex. It keeps your count on your Lock Screen and Home Screen, and it logs checking their profile separately, so looking doesn’t reset your count. When you feel the urge, it gives you something to do instead: write it and burn it, breathe, pop bubble wrap, or smash a few dishes. It’s in 33 languages, sends reminders only on milestone days, and keeps what you log on your phone.

What it doesn’t have: no coach, no program, no community and no Android version. It’s also new, with no US ratings yet. If you want someone to talk to or a structured course, one of the apps above may suit you better.

You can try its exercises right here, without installing anything: write it and burn it, bubble wrap, breathing and a 10-minute urge timer.

Whatever you pick

No app can promise that no contact will work. We found no study that tests the no contact rule as a method, or any fixed number of days. What research does suggest is that seeing less of an ex, online and off, tends to go with feelings easing sooner. More in the no contact rule.

An app isn’t a replacement for help. If you’re in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the US, or find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.
